Project Services
The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001 includes increased accountability for states, school districts and schools; greater choice for parents and students, particularly those attending low-performing schools; more flexibility for states and local educational agencies in the use of federal education dollars; and a stronger emphasis on reading, especially for our youngest children.

For the next three years, PAEC will assist the Florida Department of Education in school improvement, parental involvement, professional development, scientifically-based research and continuous improvement activities to fully implement the NCLB requirements for Title I, Parts A, C & D, Title III, English Language Learners and Title X, Part C, Homeless.

In a nutshell, Title I is intended to improve the quality of education in high-poverty schools and/or give extra help to struggling students including migratory and the neglected and delinquent students. Title III addresses the unique needs of students with limited English proficiency and immigrant students. Title X, Part C provides services for children who have no adequate regular night time residence.

As the Region I NCLB Technical Assistance Center, PAEC serves Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, FAMU School, FSU Schools, Inc., Franklin, Gadsden Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Taylor, Wakulla, Walton and Washington school districts.
