On January 23, 2006, the Vernon Middle School WINGS Program began its
first Olympic styled archery class through the National Archery in the School Program.
Mr. Mike Marlow, a NASP certified trainer and semi-pro archer, is providing one
hour of archery instruction one day per week for the remainder of this school term.
VMS WINGS students are excited about competing with other students in our area.
With the National Archery in the Schools Program spreading rapidly, the WINGS
program is excited to join in one of the fastest growing extra-curricular activities in
the nation.
The Vernon Middle School WINGS afterschool program is designed to ensure safety after
school, assist with homework completion, provide enriching activities, and promote
positive self-esteem. For more information, please contact Niki Crawson, WINGS Coordinator
at 850-535-2807, ext. 226. The WINGS Afterschool Program is a 21st Century Community
Learning Center federal/state grant administered through the Panhandle Area Educational
Consortium in Chipley, Florida. |
