Coaching Endorsement Courses
Frequently Asked Questions

When does the class start? These courses are designed to be taken at your own pace. You can enroll at anytime and complete the assignments whenever it is convenient for you.

I was taking a quiz and the Internet connection was canceled. Why can't I go back into the quiz to finish? The courses are set up to not allow students to take the quizzes more than one time. However, if you lose connectivity during a quiz, email us and we will clear the quiz for you and you will be able to complete it.

How long will this take me? The entire endorsement (3 courses) is worth 180 inservice points. Each point equals one hour of coursework. Each course is 60 points or 60 hours. Your previous knowledge and experience will affect the length of time it takes you to complete the courses. The more computer skills and previous knowledge you have about the content of each objective the less time it will take you to complete the assignments. Because this is an online endorsement (anytime, anywhere) whenever you wish to work, you may proceed at whatever pace you prefer. You may choose to work for a certain time period each day or only on weekends or whatever schedule you choose.

I am concerned about the scores I make on the "pretest quizzes" in the Anatomy and Physiology section of the Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries Course. Will these hurt my grade? The pretests do not count toward your grade. They are designed for your own information to let you determine what you know and what you don't know. Once this is determined, you only have to research what you don't know on the referenced websites. Once you find the answers, you should be able to take the posttest and get a high score.

Why are the quizzes in the later objectives only given once, not in the pretest/posttest manner like Anatomy and Physiology section of the Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries Course? In objective one, the pretest followed by websites for research are designed as an instructional tool to let you know what you need to learn. The posttest is designed to determine if you were successful. In all other objectives, the content information is presented by tutorial or through websites containing information to cover the competencies and objectives. The quizzes at the end of these sections are to assess your knowledge after completing the assignments in the objective.

When typing my answer into the online portfolio, why does part of my answer sometimes disappear when I submit it? You must complete an entire assignment in one sitting, without internet or power interruption, and submit your answer. You cannot stop and go back in at a later time in the lesson and continue your answer. If you do, whatever you already had typed will be deleted and whatever you type to finish will take its place. There are two options to deal with this.
1. You can do part of an assignment and complete it at a later time if you:
  a. Submit your partial answer.
  b. Go back to your portfolio by clicking on Course Documents and then click on View Portfolio Assignments found at the end of all the course documents. Find the objective you are working on and click on it. You will see the portion you have already submitted. You can continue your answer here. Once completed, you must click submit again. The entire answer will be submitted.

2. The second option, if you are familiar with creating word processing documents and with copying and pasting, is the preferred method. You can work on the word processing document whenever you wish and at several different times if you wish. Once completed, copy the text and paste it into the portfolio answer box and click submit.

Once I obtain the endorsement, how long will it last? 5 years

How will my endorsement be processed once I have completed the three courses? A statement of completion verification will be sent, by PAEC, to your district staff development office. Your district office will then be responsible to submit this to the Department of Education for the endorsement certificate. A copy of the completion verification will also be sent to you.

If I have questions while taking the course, how do I get help? Email your questions to belva@paec.org

Why are some of my assignments graded and previous assignments are not? Our purpose is to help you pass all assignments in each objective. If an assignment has not been graded and others completed later have been graded, your answer may not be complete or contain all points needed to pass. Check your email. The instructor will email suggestions to help you complete your answer.

May I use other resources besides the websites listed to get information for my answers? Yes. Simply refer to the reference in your answer.
