Making an Accessible PDF File

  1. Use Office 2000 or higher
  2. Use styles to format text, such as titles, heading, and paragraphs.
  3. Use "Spacing Before" and "Spacing After" to adjust space between paragraphs, rather than using return.
  4. Use the Columns command when you want the look of columns.
  5. Use Insert Table or Draw Table to create tables.
  6. Add alternate text to all images.
  7. Group all parts of a composite image.
