Tagged PDFs ensure that:
- Information is in the correct reading order on a
page.
- Text reflows correctly through the use of paragraph
attributes.
- All text can be translated into Unicode, a universal
standard to describe text characters, regardless of font.
This helps screen readers recognize ligatures and
hyphens.
- All text can be exported reliably to Rich Text Format
for use in other programs.
NOTE: Using the styles results in a list of all sections
of text by style in the document. When converting to PDF,
you can select any of the listed style segments and have
Acrobat automatically create a bookmark to that section,
providing navigation support for users.
