An Open Letter to Florida Teachers:

This is an exciting time to be in education, and keeping up with the needs of educators while providing rich and deep learning experiences has moved us into new and tremendously rewarding areas of professional development. You are being welcomed into a whole new world of opportunity for teachers simply by being at this location on the PAEC website. Through the magic of television and through DishNetwork, a national digital satellite system, PAEC now broadcasts twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to an audience of educators.

By tuning in to the educational programming available through the Florida Education Channel, teachers at school or at home can hone their skills in educating students. Whether watching the Outstanding Educators' Series that showcases some of the brightest and best in education today, or learning a new method for scientific discovery for teaching chemistry, there is no moment on the Florida Education Channel that is not focused on helping teachers do their jobs well and successfully.

As teachers work diligently to increase the achievement of all students, the Florida Education Channel is there at every moment of the day or night to assist. Initially conceived as a broadcasting medium, the FEC has evolved into a production facility that can tailor programming to meet specific teaching needs, and it does so on a regular basis. Now teachers can actually watch programs on the Florida Education Channel and then go to the PAEC website www.paec.org to obtain follow-up work that will result in earning points for recertification. In that process viewers can actually email consultants as they work through the follow-up and improve their teaching skills.

By mixing the media, tailoring the products and delivering the very latest and best in educational pedagogy, the Florida Education Channel stands as a wonderful support system as teachers work toward becoming more accomplished practitioners of the art and the skill of educating youngsters.
