Professional Outcomes: Professional Educators will:
1. Explore Google applications such as the Google Search Engine, iGoogle, Blogger, Google Maps, and Google Docs.
2. Conduct advanced Google searches to locate specific, content-related classroom resources.
3. Design a personal iGoogle page.
4. Develop a classroom blog for educational or informative purposes.
5. Produce a custom Google map and describe how it may be used to enhance student learning.
6. Create a document using one of the Google Document formats and explain how it will be used.
7. Review articles from the professional literature regarding teaching with Web 2.0 technology.
8. Develop or locate and teach a lesson plan that employs at least one Google tool.
Pupil Outcomes: Students will:
1. Experience instruction that employs at least one Google tool.
2. Demonstrate increased academic achievement as a Google tool is used to increase learner engagement and broaden opportunities for learning.
Description: Google is NOT just another search engine! In this engaging Tuesday Teacher Training program, Tammy Worcester will show you how Google's fabulous and free tools can radically transform your classroom. We’ll explore advanced features of the Google Search engine, iGoogle, Blogger, Google Maps and Google Docs and learn to use them for management and instructional purposes.

A veteran educator, Tammy Worcester has almost twenty-five years experience, which includes teaching students in grades kindergarten to middle school, serving as technology coordinator for her K-8 school, and presently working as an Instructional Technology Specialist at ESSDACK. In her present role she provides professional development in the area of technology integration. Tammy is very knowledgeable of best educational practices and uses those to collaborate with other educators in order to build models of effective technology implementation in schools.
Tammy has her own Website, Tammy’s Technology Tips for Teachers, where a variety of resources that teachers will find helpful are posted.
