Gulf County Minority Graduation Rate #1 in Florida
Five years ago, the Gulf County School District ranked 38th in the state in graduating minority students, but this past year 95.7 percent of the African American students in Gulf County graduated from high school. This placed the school district #1 in Florida in this important area, ahead of all the other districts in the state by at least five percentage points. Significant participation by minorities in extracurricular activities, dual enrollment in college courses, and participation in the College for Every Student program are among the factors credited for this outstanding achievement. PAEC Facilitates Autism Services for Districts
FDLRS/PAEC is instrumental in connecting member districts with support and services that will help them serve children with special needs, and their families. At a recent meeting of the FDLRS/PAEC Coordinating Council, attention was focused on the needs of those who are dealing with autism and related disorders. PAEC facilitates autism services for districts by working closely with programs and agencies in the Panhandle to match district needs with appropriate services. Full Story

PAEC Participates in Red Shirt Fridays
Patriots around the world are wearing red on Fridays to express their love and appreciation for the men and women who are currently serving in the military, protecting our freedoms through their service to the country. TTT Series Ends with Fabulous Free Web Tools for Teachers
The final episode of this year’s Tuesday Teacher Training series will air on the Florida Education Channel, 9418 on the DISH Network, on April 27, 2010. Plan to tune in at 3pm or 4pm Eastern Time for "Fabulous Free Web Tools for Teachers." Guest expert Tammy Worcester will be taking teachers on a tour of her favorite free web tools, and showing them how these tools can be used in their classrooms to enhance their teaching and excite their learners!
