PROMiSE Summer Institutes Held for Panhandle Teachers
The purpose of the Florida PROMiSE is to help teachers understand the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards, and how they can better teach students to think critically, solve problems, and increase math and science success. PAEC worked with FSU to sponsor four, two-weeks long 60-hour Summer Institutes this year for Panhandle math and science teachers. The institutes focused on teaching Algebra (grades 6-12), Earth and Space Science (grades 6-12), Force and Motion (grades 6-12), and Matter and Energy (grades K-5). The Algebra Institute was held June 21 - July 2. All the others were held July 12 - 23. Full Story.
