The Florida Council for Exceptional Children (FCEC) recently recognized its distinguished member Diane Johnson for her contributions to the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and the Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resource System (FDLRS). The honor came during the FCEC's recent planning/business meeting in Sarasota.

Teamwork focus of PAEC training for reading teachers, coaches
"It's wonderful to have professional development specifically for high school reading teachers and coaches," several participants commented at the conclusion of the seven day PAEC sponsored literacy workshop, "Building Better Teachers: A Team Approach."

Dr. Frances Haithcock, Florida's new K-12 chancellor, was a surprise visitor to the PAEC board of directors' meeting Wednesday in Tallahassee. She fielded questions regarding crucial education issues and also agreed to continue the dialog at next month's board meeting.
