Clip Art Resources (most of these are in .pdf format
and require Acrobat Reader.) To select the image you
want, choose the "select graphic" tool in Reader, then
drag a rectangle around the image and select "copy" from
the Edit menu. You will then be able to paste the image
into another program.

Analyzing Editorial
Cartoons "Analyzing Editorial Cartoons" is a great
way to use newspaper editorial cartoons to build thinking
skills, classroom discussions, and writing skills. The
original site is at Daryl
Cagle's Professional Cartoonists Index. Go there for
more lesson plans and activities.

The following are electronic e-texts of a
variety of books. The originals were done by Project
Gutenberg and are all available on the Internet, and
are listed below. In addition, I have created versions in
Dos and Mac formats, as well as some in HTML.
The Dos formats have carriage returns at the end of
each line, the Mac ones do not. The Dos formats work best
if you want to read them in a browser (the Mac ones will
run off the page). The Mac ones work great in talking
word processors (such as IntelliTalk
or Write:OutLoud).
You can select "read paragraph" and it will actually read
the paragraph. You can use either the Dos or Mac on
Windows and Macintosh machines, so try them both out and
decide which format you prefer. The HTML versions are for
webpage readers, such as Talk-to-Me. Even though I have
worked on making the text files usable, you may need to
refine them a bit further.
As I mentioned above, these are great for using in
talking word processors to "read" the stories to
students. They can also be used to provide large font
formats for students with vision problems. Another idea
would be to change the text color versus the background
color.
The files are large and you may need to break them
down. I have done just that with some of Aesop's Fables
and the Beatrix Potters' Stories.
