PAEC is once again pleased to have the opportunity to serve the state of Florida as the fiscal agent for the 2008 Reading First Summer Reading/Intervention Academies grant. The Reading Academies are provided by the Florida Department of Education’s Just Read, Florida! Office, in partnership with the Reading First Professional Development Office.
PAEC takes pride in providing districts and developers outstanding customer service. In 2007, customer service surveys indicated that completing forms would have been easier if samples had been provided. Customers also noted that invoice templates would have been helpful in submitting reimbursement payments.

NEW for Developers: Academy developers will receive a Developer Reimbursement Package which will include instructions, forms and sample forms to complete and submit to PAEC. A Developer Reimbursement Package may be viewed through the Reimbursement link.
As in years past, developers will also be provided a self-addressed, stamped envelope to return their forms to PAEC. The envelopes, along with the Package, will be mailed to the academy site for distribution.
NEW for Conveners: Academy conveners will be provided a Convener Invoicing Package which will include instructions for invoicing, a W-9 form, a sample invoice and an invoice template.
NEW for Districts Requesting Teacher Stipend Reimbursement: A District Stipend Reimbursement Package was emailed to every Florida district from the Just Read, Florida! Office along with their announcement memo. The Package included instructions for invoicing, a sample invoice and an invoice template.
Funds awarded through the Reading First Summer Reading/Intervention Academies grant will:
w reimburse convening sites, up to five thousand dollars* ($5,000), for hosting a Summer Academy
*75+ participants —$5,000; at least 50 participants—$3,500; at least 25 participants—$2,000
w reimburse districts for eligible Reading First K-3 teachers
w pay developer stipends and travel reimbursement
