Course Title: Monitoring Comprehension

Course Description: In this course, a direct instruction model is used to present research and information about how comprehension-monitoring strategies can be taught explicitly and systematically to students, how student success can be measured, and what steps to take when students are unsuccessful.
Course Objectives:
Participants will:
1. Explore what research says about the teaching and learning of
reading comprehension
2. Understand commonly used comprehension monitoring
strategies
3. Differentiate among strategies that are appropriate before,
during, and after reading
Course Assessment:
A certificate of completion will be awarded to participants who successfully complete the online assessment after viewing the video program.
