Course Title: Patterns to Symbols: Algebra

Course Requirements: Video Program and Assessment

Course Description: This course focuses on the algebraic concept of generalization by providing teachers strategies to teach elementary students to analyze, describe, and represent patterns. Teachers will learn how these strategies can lay the foundation for further algebra study.

Course Objectives:
Participants will gain knowledge about:
1.      effective strategies for preparing elementary students for
         middle school algebra
2.      teaching students to identify patterns and to form
         generalizations about them.

Course Assessment:
A certificate of completion will be awarded to participants who successfully complete the online assessment after viewing the video program.
