Course Description:
In this course, Angela Newing shares a range of free web-based resources that can be used to enhance the teaching and learning of mathematics. Participants will discover how to find interactive math applets, Internet-based lesson plans, and projects that utilize technology. They will also explore technology tools that can be used to help students better comprehend algebraic concepts.

Angela Newing
Angela Newing is a teacher of mathematics at Forsythe Middle School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she serves as the school's mathematics curriculum leader. She is certified in both mathematics and computer science and is "highly Qualified" according to the standards set forth in the No Child Left Behind Act. Recently, Ms. Newing was awarded the 2003 Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Michigan Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Ms. Newing serves as an assistant teacher trainer at the Elementary Mathematics Institute sponsored by the University of Michigan in Dearborn and the Washtenaw/Livingston Intermediate School District and has provided professional development for various school districts throughout her state.
