To give you a little background information about myself, I graduated from FSU
in 1983, with a BS in Social Science/Public Administration. In 1987, I earned my
teaching certificate in Elementary Education (Grades 1 – 6). I earned my certification
in ESE (Birth to age 21) during 2001 and earned my Primary Education (Age 3 to Third Grade) certification, as of 2003. I plan to finish my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction by 2008.
I have taught at Kate M. Smith Elementary School, where both my husband and daughter attended, for the past four years. During this time I have served as a Teacher for ESE Kindergarten - 3rd Grade, a Preschool Inclusion Teacher, a Developmental Kindergarten Teacher and presently have been enjoying my position as a Kindergarten Teacher.
As of 2003, I now have had the opportunity to serve in every grade Pre K – 12, in both Regular Education and Exceptional Student Educational services. I am continuously amazed at the abilities of students of all ages and have enjoyed all the opportunities to meet and learn with each student that has come my way. My career has taken me from teaching students how to make good decisions and build their self esteem, to the enthusiasum and reward of earning their High School diploma and back full-circle to teaching the social skills, self esteem building and basic academic building blocks of becoming a life-long learner.
I look forward to another successful year at KMS. Go Tiny Tigers !!!
