Graduated from Marianna High School in 1975
BS in Early Childhood Education from Troy State University in Dothan in 1993
Married to Terry Edwards
3 grown children - Jeremy, Joseph, Tirzah.
3 grandchildren - Kayla, Desiree, and Jonathan.
Teaching career: I started teaching at Dayspring Christian Academy (3rd grade and music) in 1996,
then taught at Cottondale Elementary (Kindergarten and music) starting in 1999, and started teaching
at Kate M Smith in 2004.
I am a late bloomer who had my own children early and stayed home with them
when they were little (no regrets there!) When I did go to work it was at a preschool, and
I loved it, enough so that I decided to go back to school and make teaching young children
my profession.
I love teaching kindergarten because it is a unique opportunity to make a child's first
experience with real school a positive one. Making each child feel loved
and valued as an individual as you are helping them learn and develop is a very rewarding
experience. I am enjoying being at Kate Smith as I continue to learn and develop from my
colleagues AND my wonderful students! |
