Hi, my name is Paula Ellis. I am the Reading Coach here at Kate
Smith Elementary School. I attended Kate Smith as an elementary student.
I have been the Reading Coach since the fall of 2004. Prior to becoming
the Reading Coach I taught kindergarten for ten years. I have also taught 1st grade and 3rd
grade. I am a graduate of Chipley High School. I graduated from Florida State University in 1988
with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, with certification in K-6th and Mathematic
certification in K-8th. I earned a Masters in Reading and Language Arts in August of 2005 from
Florida State University, with certification in Reading K-12th.
I am married to Terry Ellis my high school sweetheart. We have three children, Allen, Ashley
and Allison, and one granddaughter, Brookley. I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy
the beach, reading, shopping, and biking with my husband, snow skiing, swimming and painting.
We stay busy coaching the high school girls’ soccer team. We are also members of Shiloh Baptist
church where we teach 9th and 10th grade Sunday School.
My goal has a Reading Coach is to instill in our students the love of reading. |
