I love music and I love teaching music! I don't remember
a time when there wasn't music in my life. My mother played the piano and we began singing together
when I was close to the age of eight.
One of the hightlights of my school years involved playing in the band. I played the French Horn from
fifth grade through twelfth grade. I loved the experience of participating in the band!
My college years were spent at Judson College earning a B.A. in Music with a specialization in Piano.
Those years were filled with hours of studying, practicing piano, rehearsing with Judson Singers and
performing. All of those hours continued as I earned a Masters Degree in 1986 from New Orleans Seminary.
I also completed Teacher Certification in Music (Grades K - 12).
Being involved in music has given me so many wonderful experiences! I enjoy being able to give students
the opportunity to experience music. We do that through singing, playing instruments, moving, dancing,
creating and listening. It is a wonderful avenue of self-expression. It is truly amazing to watch
students as they respond to music!
My ultimate happiness is watching "Andy Griffith" with my husband and son while snacking on pop-corn
and anything chocolate!!! Keep a song in your heart! |
