As a young child, I always dreamed
of becoming a teacher, and playing school was a favorite pastime of mine. I have lived in
Chipley all of my life, and, upon graduating from Chipley High School, I attended Chipola
Junior College and Florida State University. After graduating from FSU, I began my
teaching career in kindergarten at Kate M. Smith Elementary School, where I taught for
seven years. I then took off to raise my three children and returned to teaching in the 5th grade at
Vernon Elementary School. After a year, I returned to KMS and have been teaching in the 2nd grade
since then. My love for children and my passion for learning have encouraged me to teach
for 25 years, and I strive to make learning a fun, exciting experience for my students.
I am married to Ray Pigott,
who is a retired agricultural teacher, and have three children, Jennifer who is married to
Jim Sapp, Julie who is married to Nick Dillard, and Jerrett Pigott. Jennifer is the
teacher of the gifted for Washington County, Julie is the WINGS After-School Coordinator
at Roulhac Middle School, and Jerrett is a pharmacy major at the University of Florida. I
also have four grandchildren, Austin, Abby, and Avery Sapp and Cole Dillard. |
