My name is Emily Woodrow. I recently moved to
Chipley from Auburn, Alabama. I am originally from a small town (Jacksonville)
in north Alabama, but I lived in Auburn for the past 6 years while I was working
on my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in special education. I chose to move to
Chipley over the summer because my fiancé (Collin Adcock) found a great job here.
He is the Horticulture Extension Agent for Washington County and he also works
here at Kate Smith on Friday afternoons with the Green Thumb Club.
This is my second year teaching. I taught at an alternative high school last
year in Opelika, Alabama. I really enjoyed working in an alternative setting,
but I have always known that I was meant to teach elementary school. This year,
I am teaching the third and fourth grade resource class, and I absolutely love
every minute of it!!! It is my personal philosophy that, “Student Success is
Limited Only by Adult Expectation!” By setting high academic and behavioral
expectations for every student in my classroom, I have full confidence that we
will all make HUGE learning gains this school year!!!
