SEDNET 2A takes the lead in providing training such as Trauma Informed Care (TIC), and dealing with adverse behavior in the educational environment. Behavioral and Trauma related issues can affect classroom settings and have a negative impact on student grades, attendance, test scores, and the overall safety of the educational environment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>SEDNET, a multiagency network for students with Emotional \/ Behavioral Disabilities aids the child with support needs in the home, school, or community due to issues caused by alcohol, drug abuse, or mental health problems. Eligibility for services is based on a child\u2019s behavioral health needs associated with the risk of removal from either the current living situation, educational placement, or treatment setting. SEDNET serves all agencies involved in meeting the challenge of this exceptional population. District 2A covers the six counties of Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, and Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEDNET Initiatives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">Collaboration with local support service providers and local school districts to maximize dollars to serve at risk populations in the least restrictive environment.<\/span> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Provide technical assistance to school personnel in the development of effective interventions for students with emotional disturbances or who are at risk.&nbsp;Provide technical assistance, and support to ensure students are served in the most appropriate setting in all systems. SEDNET subscribes to a philosophy of family-centered, child-focused service planning and coordination. Parents are considered full partners in the planning of services for their children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEDNET 2A Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">Family Services Planning Team (FSPT) \u2013 Multiple agencies, school officials and SEDNET meet with parents\/guardians to assist in securing the least restrictive most appropriate services necessary to aid the child with support needs at school and\/or home.<\/span> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">Behavioral observation of referred students providing a direct measure of the child\u2019s on-task, unproductive, disruptive and aggressive behavior. Intervention strategies suggested.<\/span> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">Classroom Observation\/Teacher Consultation \u2013 will provide strategies and tips on how to run a successful classroom when working with EBD children. This includes everything from learning how to set up the classroom appropriately to how to implement a classroom management\/discipline program.<\/span> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">Community Liaison \u2013 SEDNET serves on many community agency boards. These may include Department of Juvenile Justice, Teen Court, and other agencies that work with children in need.
