SEDNET projects across the state provide technical assistance and training to support building capacity of local school districts in their efforts to ensure that the needs of youth with or at-risk of Emotional\/Behavioral Disabilities are being met educationally and therapeutically. SEDNET 2A provides these services for the school districts of Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, and Washington.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SEDNET 2A works to increase the expertise of school district personnel in dealing with issues associated with educating students with Emotional\/Behavioral Disabilities. SEDNET 2A takes the lead in providing training such as Trauma Informed Care (TIC), and dealing with adverse behavior in the educational environment. Behavioral and Trauma related issues can affect classroom settings and have a negative impact on student grades, attendance, test scores, and the overall safety of the educational environment<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

SEDNET, a multiagency network for students with Emotional \/ Behavioral Disabilities aids the child with support needs in the home, school, or community due to issues caused by alcohol, drug abuse, or mental health problems. Eligibility for services is based on a child\u2019s behavioral health needs associated with the risk of removal from either the current living situation, educational placement, or treatment setting. SEDNET serves all agencies involved in meeting the challenge of this exceptional population. District 2A covers the six counties of Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, and Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
