The Science Olympiad, a nationally recognized STEM program that challenges students through hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics tournaments. The 2027 Northwest Florida Regional Science Olympiad, centered around the theme Science Unleashed: Bringing Creative Minds Together to Conquer BIG Challenges, will host 17 rigorous, multidisciplinary events that inspire authentic inquiry, problem-solving, innovation, and the active demonstration of scientific knowledge. Through these engaging competitions, students are encouraged to unleash their creativity, work collaboratively, and tackle complex challenges that mirror those faced by scientists, engineers, and innovators in the real world.

The Northwest Florida Regional Science Olympiad serves as an important gateway to higher levels of competition. Top-performing teams earn the opportunity to advance to the Florida Science Olympiad State Tournament, where they compete against the state’s leading programs. State champions may then advance to the Science Olympiad National Tournament, representing Florida on the national stage. This progression provides students with invaluable opportunities to showcase their knowledge, creativity, teamwork, and innovation while demonstrating how creative minds can come together to conquer big challenges alongside the nation’s best young scientists and engineers.
