School counselors have many, many duties and therefore, a wide-range of professional learning needs. The Panhandle Area Educational Consortium-sponsored Panhandle Network for School Counselors and this website were developed to establish a network of peers, to provide information about resources, and to ensure counselors are aware of beneficial professional learning opportunities.

Convening for School Counselors

PAEC in collaboration with ISRD hosted our Annual Winter Convening for School Counselors, Mental Health Professionals, and Social Workers on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Tallahassee Community College Student Union Ballroom. The day started with an FDOE Student Services update by Dr. Andrew Weatherill, Ms. Kim Brumage, and Ms. Damera Hopkins. Followed by a dynamic training on Best Practices: Resiliency Prevention and Intervention Strategies, facilitated by Dr. Joni Williams Splett, that highlighted ways to promote students’ mental health in the school environment, including strategies to expand intervention resources for all stakeholders.
