Launched in February of 2021, the resilience initiative for Florida Schools is to shift the way mental health is viewed and taught. The new way of thinking is focused on resiliency and hope as opposed to outdated, negative, stigma-laden mental health views; taking a proactive approach. “We want to empower our youth with tools and the skillsets to be resilient by learning how to persevere through life’s challenges. We know no one is immune from adversity and hardship. It’s not whether you’ll have challenges in life but it’s about how you respond and persevere.” – First Lady Casey DeSantis.
